Staffelter Hof - Orange Utan consists of a blend of Riesling and Muscatel.
We tried the wine from the barrel at Jan's in spring 2021 and were immediately hooked. Compared to the previous vintage, the complexity of the taste has increased again.
The grape varieties are separately in steel on the mash fermented, whereby the Riesling grapes have skin contact for around 3 weeks and the Muskateller for 2 weeks. After fermentation, the grapes are pressed and the young wine is transferred to large wooden barrels for malolactic fermentation. After 7 months in wooden barrels, it is bottled, unsulphured and unfiltered. The Orange Utan shines in a beautiful orange, reminiscent of cloudy apple juice. This orange wine is fresh, very aromatic and balanced! With every glass you fall in love with this unusual wine from the Moselle! Absolute recommendation!

Make the world a better place, by drinking great natural wine. Exactly our philosophy!
We recommend taking the wine out of the refrigerator and to decant for at least 1.5 hours then he really adds to taste. For the benefit!
