DB Schmitt - Feminine 2020

100% Chardonnay. 100% DB Schmitt style. Even when trying out the barrel, the Feminin 2020 convinced us extremely and was the highlight of the cellar rehearsal, ok with Voodoo Doll and Wild Pony;)

The Feminin is a pure Chardonnay that has been fermented on the mash for four weeks and then matures in small used barriques. On the nose this half orange wine shows a slim and gentle elegance, in the mouth it is reminiscent of a basket full of apples, honey and cedar wood but with the creaminess of a beautiful chardo and very balanced acidity.

It's really fun and doesn't taste like orange wine (if there is anything like that). Little tannin but nice structure and grip. In terms of taste, we would rather describe it as a white wine.

For Bianka, Chardonnay is a fine, filigree and more feminine type of wine, hence the name Feminin.

Unfiltered and with minimal addition of sulphur.
