What is immediately noticeable is the noble elegance of the Suertes del Marqués - Vidonia 2018: Very noble and restrained fragrance, very fine, light and fragrant reduction notes, sesame, fresh baguette, Granny Smith, white-citric notes (yuzu and amalfi lemon), salty yeast aromas . Vertical and focused on the palate, really pulls you down, nice smokiness, again salty and yeasty, zesty, acidic finish, super long despite the low alcohol content. Vidonia rocks! And it continues to evolve every year.

Suertes del Marqués Vidonia 2020 consists of 90% Listan Blanco and 10% from the autochthonous varieties Gual, Marmajuelo, Baboso Blanco, Albillo Criollo, Vijariego Blanco and Verdello. Grapes from the three best plots, which are at an altitude of between 350 and 520 meters. It was spontaneously fermented with nature's own yeast and fermented in 500 liter oak barrels in which it matured for 11 months. The volcanic soil, partially interspersed with clay, gives the wine a lot of elegance. Extremely fine and not very acidic. Classy in style!

The vines are over 100 years old and rootless. The Spanish white wine matures for 10 months in 500 liter French oak barrels on the fine lees.

Luis Gutierrez rates the Spanish wine Suertes del Marques 2018 with 95+ Parker points and writes: “The estate 2018 Vidonia could possibly be the best vintage so far of their top white, which was produced with Listán Blanco (aka Palomino) grapes from the central part of the slope, centenary vines pruned in cordón trenzado at 350 to 550 meters in altitude. This wine has a lot more finesse than the Trenzado. The must fermented in used 500-liter oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, where it matured for 11 months. It has 0.6% less alcohol than the 2017 and very good acidity and freshness. It feels austere and closed, very serious, insinuating and subtle. The palate is sharp and electric, with a sensation of liquid stones, beautifully textured and more about the soils than fruit. This has a very elegant profile that's terribly balanced and harmonious, with focused, symmetric and precise flavors, and it's medium-bodied with everything truly integrated. Awesome !! 8,000 bottles produced. "
