Tom Lubbe, the mastermind behind Matassa, gives us another absolute highlight, the Matassa - Brutal Orange. Unfortunately, we were only assigned a very small number of bottles, so it was extremely limited!
The grapes come from slate soils and are harvested by hand and are dedicated to the famous Bar Brutal in Barcelona. Native yeasts and spontaneous fermentation with maceration on the skins for about a month, aging in 600 liter demi-muids. No filtration or clarification, minimal addition of sulfur dioxide before bottling.
Broad and complex nose, with white and yellow petals, pulp and also orange peel, very aromatic and with great minerality
Lively and deep in the mouth, lively and fresh, aromatic and very tasty, light and rich, with extraordinary persistence
It is best to give the wine at least 30 minutes in the decanter.
