Behind the synonym SCHRAMMEL 2.0 is the young couple Nicole & Daniel Schrammel. The two run a micro winery just outside Vienna in the southern Weinviertel with a vineyard area of around one hectare and are new faces in the Natural wine scene.

The vineyards were planted by Nicole's grandfather well over 50 years ago. However, over the years, the family decided not to continue viticulture. When the tenants wanted to replant, the two, as natural wine lovers, took the initiative, however, absolute lateral entrants in viticulture:

“We saw an uncut diamond in the vineyards and have brought it back to our responsibility. We see ourselves as a start-up with a family tradition. "

When cultivating the vineyards, the two of them work biodynamically and with the utmost care. Greening plants are used in the vineyard in order to achieve denser and more varied vegetation. Various fruit trees and bushes were planted between the vines in order to provide the insects with flowering and to counteract the monoculture character. Vegetables for personal use are also grown between the vines.

What emerges from the vineyards is completed in the cellar. No additives are used and the wines are only accompanied in their creation. True to the motto “Just Grapes!” The vinification takes place in a traditional wine cellar in a cellar alley that is so typical of the region. The cellar, which was built in 1838, provides an ideal basis for the maturation of the wines. Working sustainably also means a lot of manual work, which Nicole & Daniel are happy to undertake.

Understanding the two of Natural wine goes far beyond the actual product: an appreciative price for honest craftsmanship without the unconditional profit thought in the foreground. The support of regional business without a petty competitive thought. The conservation of resources in the production of something valuable. A respectful treatment of nature and fellow human beings.
