Ok, Roterfaden - Riesling 2019 is not for mainstream fruit drinkers, but rather profound top material: Salt en mass already in the scent, peanuts, salted almonds, grilled corn with lots of butter, a hint of lime, chamomile and viiiiiiel yeast (the fresh Dr .-Oekter baker's yeast cubes from the cooling shelf, but also yeast plaited and brewer's yeast). Very discreet baked apple and quince peel. Otherwise: fruit? Nope - and that's nice! The salt-yeast spectacle continues on the palate, immediately grabs with a firm but fine grip, fresh but with rather restrained acidity (great for Riesling newbies!), Full-bodied, delicately nutty-smoky and super light with 12 % alcohol & drinkable.
Important: Yeasty, yeasty, yeasty - please carafe fat and give air!
The 2018 is as wild as the 2019 and has a certain amount of VA (volatile acid), which goes very well with the wine! Try that too Lemberger entry from the Roterfaden winery
