Seckinger: Hardly any other company stands for the Nouvelle Vague des Palatinate wine. The Seckinger - Grauburgunder vom Kalkstein 2020 is a bank and a value-for-money supplier year after year.
Limestone Pinot Gris is a dry, relatively slim representative of the grape variety. It is not over-extracted but rather delicate with elegant acidity and a fantastic drinking flow.
It smells of salted almonds, salted pretzel and some pear as well as slightly smoky.
On the palate a very soft texture (thanks to BSA), initially little acid, again pear fruit with a little grapefruit residue, at the same time quite elegant.
The Seckinger's also work consistently with the basic wines: low yield and early harvest so that the Pinot Gris from the red sandstone stays slim and fresh. Spontaneously fermented and a small used barrels expanded on the full yeast, unfiltered and bottled only slightly sulphurized.
Cheers, to the new Pfalz!
