Escoda can also do Pinot Noir: His La Llopetera 2018 shows a surprisingly light, fine nose with awesome reduction, ignition platelets and flint, then great nutty flavor, tahini, with light red fruit (lingonberry, cranberry). Crazy juiciness, literally calls for huge sips, but always on a high, elegant level. We like this chicken in our glass!
Joan Ramon Escoda does not try to emulate any typical Pinot Noir style here. He leaves the vines as they grow in this barren area. Thanks to the timely harvest, Joan preserves the stimulating acidity and cool Pinot Noir fruit that we love so much. A wine with awesome freshness and drink, a trigger for deep emotions!
