Oops, that's mega surprising in pretty much every respect - above all surprisingly ingenious: Cool, spicy Carignan from hot Roussillon at a low speed (only 12.5 percent by volume!). The Vignoble Réveille - Franc Tireur is grown on gneiss, not wood, but stainless steel and amphorae, vinified without sulfur. Delicately natural but clean fragrance, iron and iodine, salmiak and blue berries. Franc Tireur 2017 - acidic, fine tannins and a very drinkable glouglou from Vignoble Réveille.
Plots on a hillside, surrounded by scrub and holm oaks, 40, 60 and 117 year old vines, calyx trimmed. Completely healthy and ripe grapes, hand-picked in small boxes on August 29th and 30th.
Grapes destemmed in the vat. Particularly gentle winemaking with local yeasts, without attempting to extract too much tannin, vinified and matured without sulfite, matured in stainless steel tanks and amphorae. Light filtration before bottling. Bottling without any input
