Corral de Campanas 2018 is the entry-level wine from the Bodega Quinta de la Quietud. This Spanish red wine is made from the Tinta de Toro / Tempranillo grape variety. Part of the wine matures in used barriques and part in steel tanks on the lees. This means that the wine retains its fruity and juicy character. Corral de Campanas 2018 is an organic wine from the Toro wine region.
The Bodega Quinta de la Quietud was founded in 1999. Our friend Jean François Hébrard came to the winery in 2000 and has been running the Quinta Quietud winery in Toro ever since. He learned his trade from scratch. He studied oenology in Bordeaux and worked in Burgundy, among other places, until one day Javier Ausas, former oenologist at Bodega Vega Sicilia in the Ribera del Duero, told him about this project in the deserted growing area of Toro. He immediately recognized the apparently untapped potential from the combination of climate, soil and ancient vines and consequently signed on here in 2000. Since then, he has turned the Toro's quality hierarchy completely upside down. How does he manage to overshadow the many times more expensive monster wines, all of which like to describe themselves as typical of the Toro growing region, but unfortunately do not have the ripe quality of a great wine with them? A clear answer: pure craftsmanship! Because the up to 100 year old Tinta de Toro vines - a variety of Tempranillo that is adapted to the climatic conditions, as it is grown in the Rioja, for example - that are on the 22 hectare property are all in the bush education and are organic from the start farmed. Something that Jean François Hébrard learned from one of the pioneers of French organic viticulture, Laurent Combier, and perfectly implements it here at Bodega Quinta de la Quietud.
